Last Days to apply for Short Film Festival Medina del Campo

CONDITIONS
1. Participation in this Competition is international and open to all Directors and Producers that have created their audiovisual works in digital format.
2. Productions executed subsequent to July 1 of 2008 may be presented, the same falling into any genre (fiction, animation, experimental, documentary, video-art and video-creation, etc.) and as long as they have not been entered in previous editions of this Competition.
3. Maximum duration of works will not surpass 20 minutes.
4. Audiovisual works that are silent, in Spanish or subtitled will be accepted.
5. Each director may present a maximum of 3 works.
6. The Selection Committee will determine which works that will form part of the official section.
7. An essential condition for films selected in this competition is that prior to this Competition these have not been entered in any Competition or Festival during the year 2010 in the province of Valladolid (Spain).
8. Selected works will be listed in the Catalogue of the “Semana de Cine” and exhibited in public sessions during the dates of competition celebration. Dates of film projection will be announced in the Week’s Program.
9. Decisions of the Selection Committee and Jury will be final and indisputable.
10. A copy of each winning work, in its original format, will remain in the property of the “Semana de Cine”, with said organization notifying the proprietors of the use to be made of the work, the same always of a cultural, non-profit nature.
11. Entering this Competition is free of charge.
REGISTRATION
1. To enter a short film in the International Competition in Digital Formats, please send a DVD and the attached registration form duly filled-out to the Head Office of this Competition, address of which is:

2. A DVD, the attached registration form and CD-ROM with graphic material will be sent for each work.
3. Shipping costs for sending the DVD and CD-ROM for its participation will be on account of each participant.
4. Material that is sent will remain in the property of the Festival.
Both the copy and registration form must be in hands of the Organization before February 19th of 2010.
5. The following will be attached to each registration form:
- 3 photographs of the short film
- A photograph of the Director
6. Both the photographs and registration form will be presented in CD-ROM, labelled with the title of the work that is entered for participation. The registration form will also be sent in paper format.
SELECTIONS
1. Selected works will be made known prior to March 26th of 2010. Selected Directors will be sent an e-mail.
2. Selected works must be sent in one of the following formats (Betacam SP, DVD, or Mini DV) prior to April 1st of 2010. A card will appear on the exterior of the copy, which will include: Title, Director, Duration, Format and Original Format.
3. Shipping costs for sending of the selected works will be on account of the participant. Shipping costs for return of the work will be on account of the Festival’s organization.
AWARDS
Selected works will opt to the following awards, which will be granted by a jury highly experienced in the world of culture and cinema:
Award to the Best short film: 3.000 € and Roel.
Second Award to the Best Short Film: 1.500€ and Roel.
Second Award to the Best Short Film: 1.500€ and Roel.
• The Jury will grant a special award to the best short-duration audiovisual work produced or executed in Castilla y León (Producers and Directors born in Castilla y León may also enter this award), worth with 500 € and Roel.
• Youth Award to the Best Short Film, worth 500 € and Roel (Granted by a Jury made up by young volunteers and sponsored by the Youth Board of the Town Council of Medina del Campo.)
All awards are subject to those retentions determined by the enforced Law in Spain.
GENERAL RULES
• Producers of selected works will authorize use of a fragment of the works, with a maximum duration of three minutes, for possible broadcasting in any media.
• The producers of selected works will present their film before the screening if they wish.
• Those films which are not in Spanish must have subtitles in that language.
• The Organization may exhibit presented works in those locations and during the hours they consider opportune.
• The Organization is not responsible for any accidents and unforeseen events that could affect the works, however, insurance will be subscribed and necessary precaution will be employed in their handling.
• Any information or additional clarification will be provided by surface mail, telephone or e-mail, the same addressed to the Head Office of the “Semana”.
• All participants, merely by being such, comprehensively accept the present bases, as is the case with the Organization’s decision on any problem arising that is not covered by said bases.
• The producers of selected works will present their film before the screening if they wish.

• The Organization may exhibit presented works in those locations and during the hours they consider opportune.
